Virtual Classroom

I think what we really need is a virtual classroom.  Instead of meeting in a classroom that is so removed from the actual world, we need to start meeting where the language is acutally being used.  So I imagine it to be something like a sims game where everyone comes together as a class and the teacher can take the class anywhere in the world and interact with anyone in the world.  Instead of talking about going to Machu Pichu, we could acutually go there and see everything and explain it in the language.  It will be like google street view in that it is not a digital recreation but pictures of the actual thing.  We could interview other tourists, read and literature about the site and look at old maps... all while being there at the same time.  This is going to date me, but it would be like the old Magic School bus trips, where the class actually went inside the human body while studying it (or to outer space).  Instruction would acutually have immediate relevancy and endless possibility without ever become boring.
